What this policy covers

This policy describes how vybing collects, uses, and stores data when you visit the site, subscribe to the newsletter, or interact with any form. For the rules governing use of the site, see the Terms of Service.

1. Data collected

1.1 Analytics

The site uses Plausible Analytics: a cookieless, privacy-first analytics tool hosted in the EU. Plausible records page views, referrers, device type, and country. It does not use cookies, does not collect IP addresses, and does not use cross-site identifiers.

The site also uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4)with IP anonymisation enabled. GA4 sets cookies in your browser (see §3) and sends anonymised usage data to Google. When you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is passed to GA4’s enhanced conversions API ; Google hashes it with SHA-256 client-side before forwarding to their servers; the plaintext email does not leave your browser. You can opt out of GA4 via Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on (opens in new tab) or by declining analytics cookies at /cookies.

When you visit from a marketing link, the URL may include UTM parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign). GA4 reads these parameters to attribute your session to its origin channel. UTM values are not combined with your email address or any other personal identifier.

1.2 Error monitoring

The site uses Sentry for application error monitoring. When a runtime error occurs, Sentry captures the error message, stack trace, URL, browser version, and a session ID. Sentry does not receive your name, email address, or any input you submit. Data is retained by Sentry per their retention policy. Processing is based on legitimate interests (maintaining application stability).

1.3 Newsletter sign-up

If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is collected and stored. It is used solely to send the vybing newsletter. It is not sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising targeting. Resend (Resend.com) handles transactional delivery.

Unsubscribe tokens are HMAC-signed per-address. Clicking the unsubscribe link in any email permanently removes your address. The unsubscribed state is retained permanently to honour your opt-out.

1.4 Search signals

When you use the on-site search, the search query and timestamp are logged in a search_signals table to improve ranking and relevance. No account identifier, IP address, or name is attached to these records. Search signals are deleted after 90 days.

1.5 Server logs

The hosting provider (Vercel) automatically records standard server access logs: URL requested, HTTP method, response code, timestamp, and approximate location derived from IP. These logs are used for security and performance monitoring. Vercel’s privacy policy governs their retention.

1.6 Admin authentication

Site administrators authenticate via a magic-link email flow. Admin email addresses are not used for any marketing purpose.

2. Third-party advertising and Google AdSense

vybing uses Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites across the internet.

Google AdSense uses the DoubleClick cookie to serve more relevant ads. You can disable the DoubleClick cookie by visiting the Google Marketing Platform opt-out page (opens in new tab).

vybing.dev does not share personally identifiable information with Google for advertising purposes. AdSense cookie data is controlled by Google under their privacy policy.

3. Cookies
